Call for Papers: Annual Network Congress 2026 "Applied Economic Analysis of Individuals, Households, and Firms: Beyond the Representative Agent"

The Economics Program at Universidad EIA (Escuela de Ingeniería de Antioquia) and the Economics Researchers Network of Banco de la República, Colombia, are pleased to invite you to submit papers for the Annual Network Congress 2026, titled “Applied Economic Analysis of Individuals, Households, and Firms: Beyond the Representative Agent”.

The conference will be held in person in Medellín on December 3-4, 2026, and will focus on a broad range of research areas related to agent heterogeneity in economics, including macroeconomics and monetary policy; labor markets, inequality, and demography; economic development and inclusion; firm heterogeneity, productivity, and the energy transition; regional, urban, environmental, and agricultural economics; as well as applied microeconomics and quantitative methods. We invite experts, early-career researchers, and professionals to present and discuss research papers on the applied economic analysis of individuals, households, and firms, with an emphasis on approaches that go beyond the representative agent framework. Each author may submit only one paper; however, authors may participate in the conference as co-authors on multiple papers.

The conference will bring together academics, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to present and discuss research on economics with heterogeneous agents and its applications to public policy design. The event will feature distinguished international scholars, including Mark Huggett (Georgetown University), Nancy Qian (Northwestern University), and William Maloney (World Bank).
