Operating Regulations of the DCV
Decree 436 of 19 February 1990 created the Central Securities Depository at Banco de la República (the Central Bank of Colombia) and assigned it functions. Decree 437 of 10 March 1992 issued other provisions applicable to the DCV.
Article 21 of Law 31 of 29 December 1992 and Decree 2520 of 14 December 1993, stated that Banco de la República may manage a securities depository for the purpose of receiving in deposit and administration the securities issued, guaranteed, or managed by the Bank itself and the securities that constitute compulsory or substitute investments made by entities subject to the inspection and oversight of the Office of the Financial Superintendent of Colombia, other than equity shares.
The DCV's operating regulations have been authorized by the Office of the Financial Superintendent of Colombia.
