Banco de la República (the Central Bank of Colombia) and the Red de Investigadores de Economía (Network of Researchers in Economics) launch the Central Banking Course 2025
Banco de la República (the Central Bank of Colombia) summons students of economics to participate in the Central Banking Course which will be held in person in Bogotá with support from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, in Cali for students from the southwest region, and online for other regions of the country. The course will be led by a group of professors who are part of Banco de la República’s technical staff with distinguished careers as professionals and educators.
To participate, students must have completed at least two courses in macroeconomics in their study program or be currently enrolled in the second macroeconomics course (courses such as Introduction to Macroeconomics and Principles of Macroeconomics do not count), and register for the admission exam (only in Spanish) before Friday, 25 April 2025.
This year, the Central Banking Course will be offered in three modalities:
1. In-Person in Bogotá
The course will be held at the facilities of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.
- Date: 16 to 20 June in Bogotá.
- Time: 8:30 to 16:00
- Schools of economics invited: Those located in Bogotá and surrounding municipalities.
- Host University: Pontificia Universidad Javeriana - Bogotá.
- Seats available: up to 30 students.
2. Regional In-Person
The course will be held at the facilities of Banco de la República’s branch in Cali.
- Date: 16 to 20 June in Cali.
- Time: 8:30 to 16:00
- Schools of economics invited: Those located in Cali, Pasto, Ibagué, Popayán, and Neiva.
- Seats available: up to 30 students.
Admitted participants residing outside Cali will receive financial support for boarding and transportation. Please consult for more details (only in Spanish).
3. Online National
Aimed at students from other universities in the country.
- Date: 16 to 20 June.
- Time: 8:30 to 16:00
- Schools of economics invited: Those located throughout the country, except Bogotá and the southwest region.
- Capacity: up to 30 students.
