Accessibility
As part of the accessibility project that Banco de la República has been carrying out in different cultural spaces in Colombia, and in order to offer a better service to the population, enable better research experiences, and explore the knowledge of this border region, the Cultural Center of Banco de la República in Cúcuta has renovated its spaces.
The cultural center has a new tactile signage from the entrance plaza, which runs along the three floors, to facilitate access to the visually impaired population and ensure inclusion. In addition, there will be an elevator located at the entrance of the building with access to the three floors of the building and equipped with voice instructions and Braille signage to facilitate the mobility of visitors.
The regional and border documentation center has been one of the cornerstones of this cultural center, as it is dedicated to the rescue, identification, preservation, and dissemination of all documents and publications related to the border region. Considering its importance for researchers and academics in the region, and, seeking to provide a better service, this center was expanded and its collection became even more specialized in border issues, where materials on the Colombian-Venezuelan border occupy an important place. Likewise, all users will be able to access the electronic resources of Banco de la República's library network.
The music room continues to be at the service of the public, where connoisseurs, students, teachers, and children can perform didactic musical auditions. Visitors can also explore the different materials available in the room and enjoy the projection of audiovisual content on music.
The exploration of the universe of music and sonorities can now be complemented with three new rooms for musical practices: two for individual practice and one for group rehearsals.
