The Year of the Centenary is here! During 2023, Banco de la República will Celebrate its 100th anniversary

This year, Banco de la República will have a special celebration every month, on the occasion of its first 100 years of existence, a time in which it has played a fundamental role in the stability of the Colombian economy and in the cultural promotion in the country. 

The technical rigor that has led monetary policy for decades at critical moments in the country’s history, as well as the support and contribution of the most outstanding Colombian economists, the generation of knowledge, and the management of the nation’s cultural heritage have made our institution to be valued and respected by Colombians. 

Banco de la República celebrates 100 years of confidence-building and on the occasion of this historic celebration, among other aspects, the Bank will launch a new commemorative medal, this time to mark its centenary. 

In addition, a broad cultural, academic, pedagogical, and informative agenda will be developed so that citizens in all the cities of Colombia can learn about and celebrate together with the Bank its first 100 years of existence.
