BanRep Interviews: Bibiana Taboada, member of the Board of Directors, discusses the performance of the Colombian economy

Banrep Interviews is a new space to learn about the perspectives of the relevant people who are part of Banco de la República (the Central Bank of Colombia – Banrep). It is also a means to get to know a little more about them. 

The first Banrep Interviewee is Bibiana Taboada, a member of the Board of Banco de la República, who is an economist from Universidad de los Andes and holds a master's degree in economics from the same institution. 

She also holds a master’s degree in Public Administration in International Development from Harvard Kennedy School. Along her career, she has specialized in the design, implementation, and assessment of social programs, and has experience in managing poverty reduction strategies, social safety nets, and targeting schemes. 

Ms. Taboada has been a member of the Board of Directors of Banco de la República since February 2021. Previously, she held the position as Subdirectora General para la Superación de la Pobreza (Deputy Director General for Poverty Eradication)   at the Departamento Administrativo para la Prosperidad Social (Administrative Department for Social Prosperity).  She was an assessment and economics specialist, senior assessment associate, and consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) at the Office for Strategic Planning and Development Effectiveness. 

She was also a consultant for the World Bank and has supported research teams at IPA, the IDB, and Universidad de los Andes.
