Banco de la República (the Central Bank of Colombia) and National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE in Spanish) sign a Cooperation Agreement for the Exchange of Statistical Information

On Monday, December 23, Leonardo Villar, Governor ofBanco de la República (the Central Bank of Colombia) and Piedad Urdinola, Director of the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE in Spanish) formalized an inter-administrative cooperation agreement for the exchange of information between these two institutions.

This exchange will support the joint elaboration of macroeconomic statistics in Colombia.

Likewise, this agreement will allow to take advantage of the information available from (DANE in Spanish) and Banco de la República (the Central Bank of Colombia) complying with international standards and best practices for the exchange of information and data between central banks and national statistical agencies. This has proved to facilitate the production of more specialized data, favoring the formulation and adoption of national public policies.

The agreement will have a duration of ten (10) years.
