The Producer Price Index (PPI) measures the average change over time in prices from the first level of marketing for a basket of products. It excludes services. (for details see methodological document http://www.dane.gov.co/index.php/precios-e-inflacion/indice-de-precios-al-productor).
Since January 2015, DANE published a new PPI, base: Dec-2014 = 100, with a new basket of goods using ISIC version 4, weights based on national accounts of 2011 and trade data from 2009 to 2012. It also started producing the PPI of national production which includes prices of goods produced and consumed inside the country and exports, and continued reporting the PPI of domestic supply, which includes prices of goods produced and consumed inside the country and imports.
There are three classifications of goods in the PPI: according to economic activity (ISIC 4.0), by use or economic destination of goods (final commodities stage, raw materials, capital goods and materials for construction) and according to the source of goods (produced and consumed, imported and exported).
